I didn’t think it would be a big deal but that birthday is definitely a mile stone. It sounds so cliché but I can’t believe that it has gone by so fast. What scares me is that the next nine years are going to fly by at the same rate of speed. I try to be intentional with the things I teach my children. I have this ongoing list in the back of my head that I feel they need to learn before adulthood. Unfortunately they also seem to pick up on my character flaws and I find myself having to reteach myself before I can ever teach them again, hence the loss of time. Now at the half way point I fill like I am now counting down, not to them leaving but how much time I have left to prepare them. Nine years, eight years, two, years……..

First Time Blogger

I have done it… I have finally created a Blog. I think it can be a great tool to think through beliefs about family, homeschooling, daily life, in relation to my life in Christ. However time is not something that has been on my side lately, which is something most homeschool moms can attest to. The last several nights I‘ve been up past 1 o’clock preparing for the co-op were in and the other various activities we have throughout the week.
We're well into our fourth year of homeschool and I feel like I finally have some idea of what works with our family. The first couple of years I read every piece of curriculum I could get my hands and totally overwhelmed myself in the process. I implemented some and tossed out others. I still read all the time but I have come to a point where I can finally label our homeschool style as a mix of everything, but mostly Classical with a twist of Charlotte Mason.
